Adam was bit by the aviation bug at a very young age. Growing up near Chicago's O'Hare Airport, he spent most of his free time plane spotting and learning everything he could about airplanes. At 14, he took his first flight in a 1975 Cessna 172.
At 17 Adam began working line service at his local airport cleaning, servicing and refueling corporate and general aviation aircraft. By 18, Adam joined the United States Marine Corps where he served as a crew chief, mechanic and quality assurance inspector on the F/A-18 Hornet. His unit was attached to the USS Enterprise where he deployed in support of Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom.
While serving in the Marine Corps, Adam learned how to inspect, troubleshoot and repair complex aircraft systems. He was also responsible for quality assurance of aircraft maintenance safety programs.
Adam was honorably discharged in 2012 after five years of service to pursue a career in aviation. Shortly after, he became an Aircraft Maintenance Technician earning his Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) certificates. He took his first job working on war birds such as the the T-28, T-38, L-39 and L-139. Working on warbirds allowed Adam to hone his mechanical skills; he worked on everything from airframe and powerplant systems, to avionics and electrical. Adam also performed major overhauls, alterations and repairs, and was even the aircraft lead mechanic for 100 hour and annual inspections.
After several years of working on warbirds, Adam worked at the Citation Service Center in Orlando,FL. Adam is a Cessna-trained Citation mechanic working on most Citation models from early 500’s and 550’s to the CJ line, XL/XLS/XLS+, and Citation X, as well as the King Air 350i. Adam specializes in light and mid-cabin jet and turboprop maintenance, inspections, and repairs.
Today, Adam continues to live his passion for aviation. As the co-founder of The Prebuy Guys and Airplane Intel LLC, and the creator/co-host of the Airplane Intel Podcast, he is dedicated to helping aircraft owners and prospective buyers make smarter decisions. Adam is also working towards his CFI certificates and Master's degree in Aviation Maintenance Management from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University.
